Operation

Padua Stables was pleased to open its newly constructed broodmare facility for the 2001 season. The latest addition to our farm, we developed our custom designed paddocks and run-in shelters through many years of hands on work and experience by Bruce Hill, our Broodmare and Stallion Manager, and Ron Wells, our Maintenance Operations Manager. This design allows for our staff to most effectively monitor the health and condition of your mare and foal while providing the healthiest environment during their stay at Padua.

During their stay the mares andfoals are kept with only one other mare and foal, until the mare is safely in foal, while being handled and taught to be gentle and well mannered. After this time, they are turned out in some of our larger pastures in the surrounding complex while still being continuously monitored by our expert staff. Your mares and foals are housed side by side with Padua's own, and no expense is spared in providing the utmost care and quality in the service of your horses needs.

Limited seasonal boarding and foaling is available for mares being bred to Padua Stallions. We have two lighted arenas for light programs for barren and maiden mares, which are kept under lights from December 1-April 15. Mares and foals are then housed in our custom designed smaller turn out paddocks until the mares are pronounced in foal, at which point they are turned out in one of the surrounding larger pastures in the complex. Our expert live in staff handles and oversees your mares and foals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to make sure that the health and condition of your horses are taken care of.
